This is my professional photojournalism portfolio. I am senior photographer at The University Daily Kansan at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. I am a senior in journalism at KU. Senior forward Jamie Boyd jumps in celebration behind junior guard Katie Smith and Marija Zinic, junior forward after sophomore guard Danielle McCray draws a foul on a drive to the basket with 1.4 seconds remaining in the game. McCray stepped to the line and broke the 61-61 tie by hitting her first free throw. Kansas defeated Nebraska 62-61 and improved to 15-9 overall and 4-7 in the Big 12. The Cornhuskers dropped to 6-5 in the conference.

Alex Fiori, Lawrence, holds an 8-year-old victim of a rollover accident on K10 Sunday morning. Fiori and her husband, along with other Lawrence residents, acted heroically by forcing the door to the SUV open and pulling out the injured boy and comforting him. The boy's mother was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. The boy was transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital where he has been upgraded to stable condition.

Justin Thornton, sophomore safety, celebrates after returning an interception to the Hokie two-yard line during the fourth quarter. The interception led to a Kansas touchdown, which gave the Jayhawks a 24-14 lead over the Hokies.

Jon Goering > Barack Obama, 2008 Presidential Candidate, addresses supporters at a rally at Tuesday at the Municipal Auditorium Exhibition Hall in Kansas City, Mo. Obama said he would give college students $4,000 a year for tuition, but students would have to do an unnamed amount of community service in return. Obama said students could complete their community service through long-term commitments like the Peace Corps or through commitments such as serving food at a soup kitchen.
